It’s been a little slow the last few days. Monday night I helped Carolyn arrange her desk in her new office. She switched buildings because they are going to expand the library to use both floors — including the one her office was in. Her new office is smaller than most of the rest, but has a double-expanse of window to make up for it. It’s certainly a step up from the closet they had her in before!

I spent much of Wednesday on campus. My class from the fall (IST 230) was now in a class with another professor I know (Dave), and they had asked after me. So, Dave asked that I come say “Hi.” I did. It was nice. I had lunch with another friend/professor (Bill). Ran a few errands. Chatted with more professorly friends. Listened to another candidate for the chancellor position.

Today, we did some preparation for the dinner she’s hosting on Friday for her French 2 students. (I can’t believe she invited 21 students over for dinner in our townhouse!) And we lined up homeowner’s insurance for our closing late next month. I think everything’s set for closing now except for showing up with a big-ass check. I’m going to have to tap into my carefully guarded investments from my EA days for that. That makes me less than pleased. But the new house will make me more than pleased, so it should balance out well.
