Day 9. Saturday. I slept in ’til 9:30. I was hoping to clean and wax today. So, I went to United Rental looking for the floor machine and brushes I needed. I figured I’d go ahead and get a wet/dry vac for the cleaning too. They didn’t know much about the conststancy or material about the brushes they had, so I took them all. And, they didn’t have a wet/dry vac. They don’t carry ’em.

The video said that to clean the residue off the floor, you use plain water and a medium stiff, long-handled brush, and a mop, or preferably a wet/dry vac. Since I had a mop, and did not have a wet/dry vac, I started cleaning that way. My mop is now Malay tan. However, as the floor dried, it was easy to see the streaks left behind by the mop. So, I remember asking Sunbelt if they have a wet/dry vac and so I go there and rent one after lunch. First, I finish cleaning the floor with the brush and mop, then I go back over it with brush and wet/dry vac. Again, I’m going small segment by small segment. This 2-stage process takes me until just after 5:00. I figure there’s no way I’ll be able to finish the waxing process at a reasonable time if I start that late, so I’m done with the floor for today. Happily though, I’m through another step of the process. Yesterday I was only half way through (done 2 of 4 steps) now, just one day later, I’m 3/4 of the way through! I think I’ll be able to do all the waxing tomorrow without difficulty. The only trick will be the parts I have to hand wax. I’m not sure how to do that and neither the instructions nor video are any help. I’ll just have a go at it and see what happens.
