Eve and Tom just left. And this morning/afternoon, we laid out the scoring pattern. There are a couple of tricky spots, but I think it will be pretty straightforward. Joe indicated he might come by this weekend and see what it looks like. If Monday at noon (or shortly after) comes and goes and I’ve not heard from him, I’m going to give him a call. But either way, I’m going to find out if he’d be willing to come score after work Monday or Tuesday. If not, I’ll probably ask CJ+someone (CJ suggested Josh C?) to come stand on a guide board for me, and I’ll cut it with my current saw. I need to get the blade anyway.

I called Al this morning, and have not yet heard back from him. At this point, I want to do the scoring next because the sanding could kick up the chalk that’s down for the scoring lines. CJ’s already mentally coreagraphing dances on the diamond-shaped pattern I’ve laid down.

I’m still concerned about the pee smell. It’s not too bad, but still quite present. I’m going to call Kemiko Monday and see if I can treat the spots with bleach. (I predict) I’ll be a much happier camper when the scoring is done, because that feels like a big chunk that I’m nervous to do, so will be relieved to have that behind me. I’m nervous to actually spray colored acid on my floor too, but I’m at least partly amused by that idea too. I’m thinking I might even be able to do 2 coats in one day. I’ll do the first one early in the morning (after CJ’s left for the day) and the second one after dinner once CJ and I are (or can be) upstairs for the night. Then I could wash the next morning. I dunno. We’ll see how it goes.

Eve kept mentioning various things that will need to be done once I feel like it’s done. Like priming and painting new shoe molding that will need to be put up. Re-painting the baseboards, putting down some sort of strip around the borders with the carpet and the parquet entry way, for example. And of course, that’s before we put down any area rugs, and move the furniture back in.

I’m not sure what else I want to try to get done with it today. I may be done for the day.
