We had our “Class Reunion” for our Bradley Method Birth class today. It was neat to get together. We’d actually run across the baby (and dad) from the other couple a day or two ago, but we’d not seen the Bradley instructor since class, and it was nice to be in a more casual setting (their house).

The babies seemed at best mildly interested in one another. The other baby did spend a reasonable amount of time looking at Sam, but Sam was more interested in looking at Mom. We put them face-to-face at eye level for a while, and Sam got quite chatty, which was cute.

It was interesting too to hear at least snippets of their birth story. They had a much larger baby, and a correspondingly much rougher birth. You may recall that Sam’s in the 5th percentile for weight? Well, this baby was in the 95th percentile! Moms got to swap breastfeeding stories, and it was generally great to have a bit of a touchstone for how other parents of a similarly aged child are doing. OK, at this point, there is a bit of an age gap — 3 weeks, but as they age that difference will become less and less pronounced.

It was a nice day too, so we got to walk to the reunion location. A good experience, all around, it seemed, and one I’m looking forward to repeating.
